If there is one thing that we can agree is starting to get a little played out is the matter of the boxing match between age-old enemies, AKA and Cassper Nyovest. For the past year the two have managed to take turns dangling the carrot in front of our noses and leading us where they want to lead us; be it buying an album, supporting a music video or a new venture. Fans have gone everywhere with the two in order to assert whether the boxing match is ever going to happen.
The last time any real facts over the match was spoken was AKA confirming that the first is set to take place in the first or second quarter of the new year. Before that, again it was AKA, that exposed Cassper for allegedly using the boxing match to promote his recently released album, “A.M.N.” This was as was detailing how he was ready to fight AKA any-minute-now, forgetting that he had not signed the contract to confirm the fight. A matter we believe has been put to rest.
However, as has become the thing. When Cassper was preparing for the release of the “Nokuthula,” featuring Busiswa and Legendary P music video, he again dangled the carrot in front of us. However, this time Cassper suggested that it was AKA that had not signed on the dotted line to confirm the fight. That was when AKA decided not to address the insinuation and focus on his BHAVOMANIA season. But that seemed to have worked to his disadvantaged.
AKA spent his Friday, promoting his SABC 1 hosted talk-format show, “The Braai Show with AKA.” As he was doing so, a troll slide into the comments sections and asked that AKA sign the papers to the boxing match. Proving that both he and Cassper follow one another and consume each other’s content, AKA quoted Cassper’s sentiments when he was asked to sign the papers after it was revealed that he had not.

Not you getting all cocky as if we would travel from all corners of Afrika to see you fight 😑. We want to see Mufasa at a stadium since we didn’t get a fill up this year 💔

But because reading is an acquired skill, some tweeps used his reply as confirmation that he had not signed the agreement. It took a few comments to set the confused tweeps in the right direction, and explain what sarcasm as- a trait that is synonymous with AKA.
Those were Cass words
