Tukur Buratai, Nigeria’s current Ambassador to Benin Republic and former Chief of Army Staff, met with President Patrice Talon of Benin Republic on Wednesday, July 28.

Though it was reported that Buratai met with the Beninese President to give his letter of credence, the meeting took place in the midst of the arrest in the neighbouring country of self-styled Yoruba leader Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

Remember that Igboho was apprehended in Cotonou, Benin Republic’s capital while attempting to flee to Germany after his home was stormed by some Department of State Services (DSS) agents, who then declared him wanted.
