Why did Chris Paul get Ejected Tonight? Why was Chris Paul Ejected?
Chris Paul was ejected from the game after colliding with the referee. In the third quarter of Wednesday’s game against Houston at Footprint Center, Chris Paul was dismissed after he received two technical fouls.
When referee JT Orr gave the first technical to the 12-time All-Star from the Suns, he was whining about an injury to his right hand.
After Dennis Schroder intercepted a pass, he reached for his hand. Jae’Sean Tate was guarding Paul on the play, and Paul quickly grabbed at his hand as he hit it on the arm.
At three minutes and thirty seconds into the third quarter, Paul was whistled for appealing a no-call after being struck in the hand by a pass and then “bumping” into an official. Paul then came face-to-face with Orr. With 9:07 remaining in the third quarter, Orr gave Paul the second automatic ejection tech.
According to lead referee Mark Lindsay, the first technical was given for vulgarity, while the second was given for making contact with Orr during the match.
With 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line, the All-Star had a typical night.
This was Paul’s final game before the NBA All-Star break this weekend in Cleveland, where he recorded six assists and two steals.
