After appearing in the soap opera as a member of its original cast, Ernst Walder passed away at the age of 94. The actor died in September 2021, and former writer Daran Little paid tribute to him on Thursday. His passing was made public.
Daran posted a homage to Ernst Walder on Twitter, saying: “Very sad to read of the passing of dearest Ernst Walder”.
“An Original C St cast member who quickly became Tony Warren’s boyfriend before Tony caught him in bed with another cast member.
Ernst used to send my sons chocolates every Christmas and was the loveliest man”
Ernst had died away months before, but his passing was only made public by a blog entry on the Coronation Street website.
In the early years of Corrie, Ernst played Ivan Cheveski, the son-in-law of cobbles matriarch Elsie Tanner. In the 1960s, Ernst even dated the show’s co-creator, Tony Warren.

There is no cause of death for the late actor Ernst Walder but his death can be associated with old age as he was at a ripe age of 94 before his passing. There have not been any comments made by his family after his death.
