Is GOT7 Disbanded? Members and All You Need to Know

GOT7 parted ways after their contract expired, and the members are now pursuing separate careers in music.

Seven members of the band have decided not to extend their contract with the label as of January 19, 2021, according to the firm.

“Girls Girls Girls” by GOT7 was released on January 16th, 2014, and they have since become one of the most popular K-pop groups.

According to a statement issued by JYP Entertainment earlier today, “JYP has undertaken detailed negotiations with the GOT7 members ahead of their exclusive contract expiration on January 19th.

As a result, both parties have agreed that the contract will not be renewed in the hopes of a new beginning… The GOT7 members’ official association with JYP ends now, but JYP will honestly support them in their future endeavors.”

GOT7’s exit from the label was initially reported when South Korean news sites stated that the group’s members were in the middle of contract discussions with other labels.

On January 10th, Dispatch reported that vocalists Jinyoung and Yugyeom were reportedly close to signing contracts with BH Entertainment and AOMG, respectively, while Youngjae was reportedly in talks with Sublime Artist Agency.

Jackson Wang will continue to release music on his own label, Team Wang, while BamBam and Mark Tuan are said to be in talks with various labels as well as considering starting their own.

Two large labels are said to have approached JB, the band’s leader.
