Kristofer Bubic, an American professional baseball pitcher for the Major League Baseball Kansas City Royals, was born on August 19, 1997. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall.
Bubic attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, and played football and baseball there. As a junior, he went 8–2 with a 0.89 ERA, and as a senior, he was 1–20 with a 1.20 ERA and struck out 82 batters in 70 innings pitched.
He was not selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft out of high school; instead, he attended Stanford University and played college baseball for the Stanford Cardinal.
Bubic was chosen 40th overall by the Kansas City Royals in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, and he signed a one-year deal with the Royals on June 18 for $1,597,500.
Bubic went 0–3 with a 3.26 ERA in 21 games as a rookie at Stanford in 2016. (six starts). As a sophomore, he started 15 games and had a 7–6 record with a 2.79 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 90 innings. After the season, he pitched for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he went 4–1 with a 1.65 ERA in 32+23 innings. In 2018, he finished 8–1 with a 2.62 ERA as a junior and was chosen to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team.
Bubic made his major league debut on July 31, 2020, against the Chicago White Sox, pitching four innings and striking out three batters.
