Andrew Russell Garfield was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 20, 1983, to Jewish parents with ancestors from Russia, Poland, and Romania.
Andrew’s English-born mother and American father moved the family to England when he was three years old, and he went to the City of London Freemen’s School, where he studied business and wanted to be a businessman at first, but later he became more interested in acting.
Andrew eventually chose to study acting at the University of London’s Central School of Speech and Drama. Andrew began his acting career by appearing in a variety of plays before landing a role on the television show “Sugar Rush.”
Despite the fact that he only appeared in two episodes of the popular TV show “Doctor Who,” he piqued the interest of many directors and producers. Garfield’s fortune began to rise from that point on.
Andrew got his first movie role in 2007 in “Lions for Lambs,” where he met Meryl Streep, Robert Redford, and Tom Cruise, among others.
