Yes. Dolly Parton has been inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame after initially turning down a nomination for induction in March.
“I don’t believe that I have earned that privilege,” she stated in an Instagram post, “even though I am tremendously delighted and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.” “I don’t want any votes to be split because of me, so I’m going to respectfully withdraw.”
Dolly Parton changed her mind and stated that if she made the list, she would accept the inclusion.
“Well, I’ll graciously accept.” “I’m simply going to say ‘Thank you,’ and I’m going to take it because the fans vote,” she told NPR’s “Morning Edition.”
On Wednesday morning, the Hall of Fame unveiled the inductees for 2022. Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon are among the performers that will be honored alongside Parton.
Artists must have released their debut record 25 years prior to induction to be considered for admission.
Eminem, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon all made their first appearances on the ballot, with Eminem’s eligibility being his first year. Six female artists will be inducted into the class of 2022 for the first time.
The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles will host the induction ceremony on Nov. 5. It will air on HBO at a later date and will be streamed on HBO Max.
