According to WSBTV’s Michael Seiden, Young Thug and Gunna are among 28 persons linked with YSL who were indicted in a 56-count indictment on Monday.
Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested after his residence was searched and is being detained at Fulton County Jail.
According to prison documents, the Punk artist has been charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and involvement in illegal street gang activities.
The conspiracy allegation arises from an alleged event on January 24, 2013, and the gang charge stems from an alleged crime on May 12, 2018. Gunna, real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, is said to have been charged with one count of RICO conspiracy.
Thug is accused of hiring a car that was used in the 2015 murder of 26-year-old Donovan Thomas, which also resulted in the injuries of two others in a drive-by shooting.
Christian “Big Bhris” Eppinger, also mentioned in the 56-count indictment, was arrested earlier this year in connection with the killing of an Atlanta police officer.
Prosecutors believe that Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin sought Thug for permission to conduct an alleged second attempt on YFN Lucci’s life, according to WSBTV. In February, Lucci was reportedly attacked at Fulton Country Jail.
