Daniel Robert Jansen is a Major League Baseball catcher who currently plays for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jansen was picked by the Blue Jays in the 16th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft after attending Appleton West High School in Appleton, Wisconsin.

He had signed with the Blue Jays instead of Jacksonville University, where he had planned to play college baseball.

For the season, he was assigned to the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays, where he played 36 games and hit .246 with 18 runs batted in (RBI).

That season, he had above-average plate discipline, walking 21 times and striking out only 10 times.

Jansen was promoted to the Bluefield Blue Jays’ Rookie Advanced team in 2014. He hit .282 with five home runs and 17 RBI in 38 games.

In 2015, Jansen was assigned to the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts, although he missed more than half of the season due to injury.

Jansen returned to the Lugnuts in August after a seven-game rehab stint in the Gulf Coast League. He hit .210 in 53 games, with five home runs and 30 RBI.

On January 12, 2016, Jansen was invited to Major League spring training and was reassigned to minor league camp on March 12. 

For the 2016 minor league season, he was assigned to the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays. Jansen hit .218 with one home run and 25 RBI in 57 games in 2016. 

The Blue Jays assigned Jansen to the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League after the 2016 season.
