San Antonio and the AAA El Paso Chihuahuas were Cimber’s teams in 2016. He was a Texas League All-Star after pitching 42 innings for the Missions and going 3-2 with a 2.56 ERA.

In 2017, he pitched for the same two teams, each with an ERA under 3.00.

In 2018, he was named to the Padres’ Opening Day roster and made his debut against the Milwaukee Brewers, allowing one earned run in one inning of bullpen work.

In a big league game, Cimber was the first player to wear the number 90. Since he was born in 1990, he was given this number in spring training and liked it.

He was offered more traditional numbers when he joined the squad, but he chose 90 because it reminded him of the mentality he required to get through the minors.
