On the defensive end, Davis racked up the most blocked shots in the NCAA, and he set freshmen records in both the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I for blocked shots. In the wake of helping lead Kentucky to a national championship, he was named the most outstanding player of the NCAA tournament.
