Austin Wade Meadows (born May 3, 1995), is an outfielder with the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is 6 feet 3 inches tall. He has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball.
Meadows was regarded as one of the best prospects in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. The Pittsburgh Pirates chose him in the first round, ninth overall, with the ninth overall pick.
Meadows had committed to Clemson University to play collegiate baseball for the Tigers, but he elected to sign with the Pirates instead, getting a $3,029,600 signing bonus three weeks after the draft.
Meadows’ mother, Staci, is a Grayson elementary school teacher who played softball at Georgia Southern University and Georgia State University. Kenny, his father, was a baseball and football player at Morehead State University.
Parker, his younger brother, was picked in the second round of the 2018 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers and presently plays for them. In December 2018, Meadows married his wife, Alexis. Meadows is a devout follower of Christ.
