Bowden Francis is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball. Francis was born on April 22, 1996.
He made his MLB debut in 2022. The 22nd of April, 1996 finds Francis being brought into the world in Tallahassee, Florida. Chipola College, located in Marianna,
Florida was his alma mater before he was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the seventh round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
In 2018, Francis made his debut in the professional ranks with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Class-A level. At the end of May,
he was promoted to Triple-A Nashville Sounds at that level. Francis threw 592 innings in 11 games at two different levels, compiling 65 strikeouts and a 3.62 earned-run average. He had a combined 7–3 record.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the minor league season was cancelled in 2019, hence he did not participate in any games during that year.
Before being moved up to Nashville in May of that same year, Francis started the 2021 campaign with Biloxi. Francis and Trevor Richards were exchanged for Rowdy Tellez on July 6, 2021.
He was sent to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons and stayed with them all season. Francis was 6–4 with a 4.19 ERA in 73 innings for the Bisons. 19 November 2021, he was added to the 40-man roster. Francis joined the Blue Jays on April 25, 2022.
