Christopher Emmanuel Paul is a professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association’s Phoenix Suns. He was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on May 6, 1985.

Point guard Chris Paul has won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, the NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award, two Olympic gold medals, and has led the NBA in assists four times and stolen a league-high six times. He is a two-time All-Star selection. In addition, he has been named to twelve NBA All-Star teams, 10 All-NBA teams, and nine NBA All-Defensive teams during his career.

As part of the NBA’s 75th-anniversary celebrations in 2021, he was selected for the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

At Wake Forest University, Paul played college basketball for two years, helping the Demon Deacons win their first-ever national championship. While playing with the New Orleans Hornets, where he rose to become one of the league’s most valuable players, he was drafted with the fourth overall choice in the 2005 NBA draft.

Hornets arranged a trade in 2011 in which Paul would join Los Angeles Lakers, but the NBA nullified the agreement. Later that year, he was instead traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
