His first professional appearances were on the stage, and he made his television debut in the Channel 4 adolescent series Sugar Rush (2005) in the United Kingdom.

More TV work followed, including a two-part episode in the third season of Doctor Who (2005) that reached a broader UK audience, as well as a number of film appearances.

Garfield starred as Eduardo in The Social Network (2010) and Tommy in Never Let Me Go (2010), roles that catapulted him to worldwide prominence.

That same year, he was cast as the title character in The Amazing Spider-Man, a relaunch of the Spider-Man film franchise (2012). He returned to the role in the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), before handing over the baton to Tom Holland.

Garfield began dating his ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ co-star Emma Stone in 2011, probably during the film’s filming. They were rumored to have split up in 2015, although no official announcement was issued.

When asked about his sexuality, Garfield responded, “I am heterosexual, but I am open to whatever impulses that may occur within me at any time.”

Garfield and Alyssa Miller reportedly began dating in late 2021, but the couple recently broke up on the count that they both could not find time through their busy schedule for one another. Andrew has no children as of 2022.
