Dylan David Coleman (born September 16, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Major League Baseball Kansas City Royals (MLB). In 2021, he made his MLB debut.
Coleman went to Potosi High School, which is located in Potosi, Missouri. After going undrafted out of high school in 2015, he went on to play collegiate baseball for the Bears at Missouri State University.
In 2017, he was a member of the Cape Cod League’s Bourne Braves. As a junior, Coleman had his greatest collegiate season, finishing 10–2 with a 3.77 ERA with 129 strikeouts in 102+23 innings. Coleman was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres.
Coleman was traded to the Kansas City Royals as a player to be named later on November 5, 2020, as part of a transaction that sent Trevor Rosenthal to San Diego and Edward Olivares to Kansas City.
Coleman pitched for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Omaha Storm Chasers in 2021, going 5–1 with a 3.28 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 57+23 innings.
Coleman’s contract was added to the active roster by Kansas City on September 21, 2021, and he made his MLB debut that night against the Cleveland Indians.
