The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame confirmed which of this year’s nominees will be inducted in the 2022 ceremony on Nov. 5 in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning (May 4).
The class of 2021 was chosen by a committee of over 1,000 people, including previous entrants, historians, and professionals in the music industry.
The annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame fan poll is also taken into account when determining the ultimate decision.
A solo artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination to be considered for induction. The following factors are used to select the inductees:
The artist’s musical influence on other artists.
Length/depth of career and body of work.
Innovation and superiority in style/technique.
The 37th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will have ticket information available soon.
The event will be broadcast live on SiriusXM’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame radio station on Nov. 5 at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The event will also be shown on HBO at a later date and streamed on HBO Max.
