Catherine Marcelle Reitman is a Canadian-American actress, producer, and writer who was raised in the United States. She is the creator, executive producer, writer, and star of the CBC comedy series Workin’ Moms, for which she also serves as executive producer.
The daughter of French-Canadian actress Geneviève Robert and Slovak-born Canadian film director Ivan Reitman, Reitman was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father is from a Jewish family, while her mother converted to Judaism after growing up in a Christian home.
She studied acting at the University of Southern California, where she received her degree from the Cate School. She is the sister of Caroline Reitman, who is also a director, and Jason Reitman, who is also a producer.
With the start of Breakin’ It Down with Catherine Reitman on YouTube in January 2011, Reitman launched a film review online show that ran until July 2013, when it terminated.
She was a guest co-host of the Hollywood Babble-On podcast with Ralph Garman on occasion, filling in for Kevin Smith when he was unavailable.
