Friendships between Hollywood stars are nothing new, but the one between Amber Heard and James Franco would not have come to light if Heard hadn’t said that she had confided in the actor about her problems with ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Heard and Depp have been entangled in a high-profile defamation dispute, with Depp claiming that Heard harmed his public image when she published an op-ed piece for the Washington Post alleging domestic abuse. While Depp’s name was not published, many suspected he had assaulted her, causing him to lose career chances.

Prior to the trial, it was revealed that Franco will be deposed, and his relationship with Heard supposedly extends beyond friendship.

As the op-ed “depended on the primary assumption that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp conducted domestic violence against her,” he launched a $50 million lawsuit against her.

Meanwhile, Heard filed a counter-suit for $100 million, accusing Depp of orchestrating a “false and defamatory smear campaign” against her.

It’s no secret that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had a rocky relationship, and it appears that Heard confided in James Franco about their marital issues.

When Heard testified in Depp’s libel action against the British newspaper The Sun, she accused him of domestic abuse and recounted an instance in which Franco inquired about her supposed injuries.

Heard said that the “127 Hours” actor paid her a visit to the apartment she shared with Depp and wanted to know why she looked different.

“We were conversing,” Heard said in court, according to Page Six. “Oh my God, what happened to you?” he said. “He saw my face… when I allowed him in,” she claimed.

“When he saw my expression, he exclaimed, ‘What the f**k?'” According to Vanity Fair, Heard got the bruises after Depp hurled a phone at her. (Elon Musk, Heard’s ex-boyfriend, and actress Ellen Barkin are also scheduled to speak on her side.)

Heard did not go into detail about her connection with Franco, although it is probable that they were close. After all, the two had already appeared in two films together, “Pineapple Express” and “The Adderall Diaries.”
