Zackary Grant Britton (born December 22, 1987), professionally known as Zach Britton, is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Britton, 34, is the youngest of three brothers from his parents Martha and Greg Britton. He was born and raised in Panorama City, Los Angeles United States. His great-grandmother on his maternal side is of Dominican Origin but he does not know how to speak the native language Spanish. His fair complexion is because of his father Greg’s descent which is of German-Irish origin.

Britton attended Canyon High School for his freshmen year and later enrolled at the Weatherford High School where he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft. He received a $200,00 signing bonus and stopped attending college to play full-time for the team.

Britton began his career as a starter before switching to closer and leading the American League in saves in 2016. He was nominated to the AL All-Star squad in 2015 and 2016. Britton set an American League record by saving 60 consecutive games from September 20, 2015, to August 23, 2017.

Britton was traded to the New York Yankees on July 24, 2018, in exchange for Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll, and Josh Rogers. He finished the 2018 season with a 2.88 ERA in 25 appearances for the Yankees. On January 11, 2019, Britton agreed to a three-year deal with the Yankees, with a fourth-year option.

Britton is currently married to his beautiful wife Courtney Legget and the couple has four children together.
