Jim Hagedorn Nationality
Hagedorn, James Lee holds American Nationality and was an American politician from Minnesota. From 2019 until his death, he served as the United States Representative representing Minnesota’s 1st congressional district as a Republican. Hagedorn was born in the town of Truman, Minnesota, in the year 1962.
He was the son of Tom Hagedorn, a former United States Representative, and Kathleen Hagedorn. From 1975 until 1983, his father was a member of Congress Hagedorn graduated from Langley High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and political science from George Mason University.
From 1984 through 1991, Hagedorn worked as a legislative aide to U.S. Representative Arlan Stangeland. From 1991 to 1998, he worked for the US Department of the Treasury as the Financial Management Service’s director of legislative and public relations, and from 1998 to 2009, he worked for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing as a congressional affairs officer.
Jennifer Carnahan, the previous chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota, was Hagedorn’s wife. They lived together until his death in Blue Earth, Minnesota. In 2019, he was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and got immunotherapy to combat the disease. He had surgery to remove the damaged kidney in December 2020. Hagedorn announced in July 2021 that his cancer had returned.
