The Phillies traded him to the Texas Rangers in June 2017 and in November 2017, he signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Joely returned to the Rangers in December 2019 after he signed a two-year contract, with a team option with them.

In July 2021, the Rangers traded him to the New York Yankees and in April 2022, the Yankees also traded him to the New York Mets where he has been to date.
