Jonathan Bowlan is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Kansas City Royals in Major League Baseball (MLB).
As a student-athlete at the University of Memphis, Bowlan was a member of the Bulldogs’ baseball team. The Royals selected him in the twelfth round of the 2018 MLB draft, which was held in Kansas City, Missouri.
His professional career began with a 1-4 record and a 6.94 earned run average in 35 innings with the Idaho Falls Chukars.
His season began with Lexington Legends, but he ended up being promoted to Wilmington Blue Rocks. In a July start for Wilmington against the Carolina Mudcats, he tossed a no-hitter.
During the two clubs’ combined 26 games (23 starts), Bowlan had an 11-5 record, a 3.14 ERA, and 150 strikeouts in 146 innings pitched.
The minor league season was canceled in 2020, thus he did not play in a game. He played in only four games in 2021 due to Tommy John’s surgery in May.
