The Major League Baseball pitcher José Orlando Berros, also known as “La Makina” (Spanish for “The Machine”), is a Puerto Rican professional baseball player who currently plays for the Toronto Blue Jays.

He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. The Minnesota Twins selected Berro in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft.

That year, he made his professional baseball debut with the Rookie Gulf Coast League team, the Gulf Coast Twins. He had a 14–5 record with a 2.87 ERA in 27 games between the two teams.

At the conclusion of the season, he appeared in one game with the Rochester Red Wings. Both the 2013 World Baseball Classic and the 2017 World Baseball Classic saw Berros represent Puerto Rico and earn silver medals for the national team. His wife, Jannieliz Márquez, is the mother of his two children.

They have three children, two boys and a girl. Jannieliz Berros is the sister of Irmarie Márquez, the wife of Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Báez.

Berrios visited his birthplace of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, during the offseason and gave water, food, and other necessities to those in need following Hurricane Maria, which devastated the island in September 2017.
