Brief History about Russell Brand
Russell Edward Brand, born in June 1975 in Essex, England is an English comedian, actor, and radio host. He grew up under his mother’s ‘wings’ since his parents got divorced when he was 6 months old. Russell’s first time on stage was at Gray’s School during a school production of Bugsy Malone. He later went on to study at Italia Conti Academy. During his first year of studies, his tuition was funded by Essex County Council. Later on, he got expelled due to drug use and poor attendance.
Brand still continued with his life of drugs which even got him dismissed from his job at BBC after he brought his “supplier” to work and dressing as Osama Bin Laden several days after the 9/11 disaster.
In 2004, Brand achieved popularity when he played the role of a host for a Big Brother Spin-Off; Big Brother’s Big Mouth.
Relationship with Russell Brand; Katy Perry’s First Husband
In the summer of 2009, Katy met Russell while filming a cameo appearance for his movie, Get Him to the Greek. During the shooting of the film, the two kiss though not shown in the film. In September 2009, during the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, the two met at the occasion and decided to give love a chance.
On October 23, 2010, the two got married in India at a colorful traditional ceremony near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary in Rajasthan.
14 months into the marriage, Brand filed for a divorce which got finalized in July 2012. Brand’s reason for divorce was that Perry was reluctant to engage in activism and also was a commercial success. Perry on the other hand stated, conflicting career schedules as well as not being ready to bear children is her basis for divorce.
The two moved on with their lives and have since gone on to even put to birth with their current partners.
