Olson went to Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia, where he played first base and pitched for the Parkview Panthers, who won back-to-back state titles in 2011 and 2012.
Olson concluded his high school career with a.431 batting average, 44 doubles, 45 home runs, 168 RBIs, and a fielding percentage of more than 0.980.
He owns the Parkview High School and Gwinnett County wins and RBIs records. Parkview High School retired his uniform number, No. 21, in February 2019.
