Miguel Angel Castro (born December 24, 1994) is a Dominican baseball pitcher who now pitches for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
He played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Colorado Rockies, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Mets in the past.
In 2012, Castro signed as an international free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays, earning a $43,000 signing bonus.
In his professional debut in 2012, he went 3–2 with a 4.73 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 13 innings with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays.
Castro started the 2013 season with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays before moving on to the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays and Bluefield Blue Jays.
Castro was traded to the New York Mets on August 31, 2020, in exchange for pitcher Kevin Smith and Victor Gonzalez.
Castro appeared in 26 games for the Orioles and Mets in 2020, posting a 4.01 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 24+23 innings.
Castro had a career-low 3.45 ERA in 70+13 innings in 2021, striking out 77 batters and walking 43.
Castro avoided salary arbitration with the Mets by signing a $2.62 million contract on March 22, 2022.
Castro was traded to the New York Yankees for Joely Rodrguez on April 3, 2022, by the Mets.
