Ryan Patrick O’Hearn is a Major League Baseball first baseman for the Kansas City Royals in the United States.
Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas, is where O’Hearn graduated. He hit .505 as a senior, with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs, earning him a berth on Baseball America’s second team of High School All-Americans.

He was not taken out of high school in the 2011 MLB draft, so he enrolled at Sam Houston State University and played collegiate baseball there.
In 62 games during his junior season, he batted .292 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs. After the season, he was selected in the eighth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals.
In 64 games, O’Hearn batted .361 with 13 home runs and 54 RBIs for the Idaho Falls Chukars.
After hitting .277 with 19 home runs and 56 RBIs for the Lexington Legends, O’Hearn was moved to the Wilmington Blue Rocks, where he concluded the season with a .236 batting average, eight home runs, and 21 RBIs.
He batted .275/.351/.478 with 22 home runs and 78 RBIs in 134 games with both Wilmington and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2016, and .253 with 22 home runs and 64 RBIs in 133 games with the Omaha Storm Chasers and Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2017.
On July 31, 2018, O’Hearn was promoted to the major leagues and hit a home run in his debut game. In 44 games, he hit 12 home runs and drove in 30 runs. In 2019, he batted only.195 with 14 home runs and 38 RBI.
It was announced on July 7, 2020, that O’Hearn had tested positive with COVID-19. O’Hearn had a batting average with the 2020 Kansas City Royals.
