Scott A. Barlow was born on December 18, 1992, he is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Major League Baseball Kansas City Royals. In 2018, he is 6 feet 3 inches tall.
Barlow’s family moved to California during his freshman year of high school, so he could play baseball year-round and gain greater exposure to professional scouts. In Santa Clarita, California, he attended Golden Valley High School.
The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Barlow in the sixth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. Rather than attending Fresno State, he signed with the Dodgers.
After signing, Barlow made his professional debut with the AZL Dodgers that same year, putting up five earned runs in 1.2 innings thrown. He had Tommy John surgery in 2012 and missed the whole season.
In 2013, he pitched for the Ogden Raptors, posting a 4-3 record with a 6.20 ERA in 15 starts. He also threw one game for Great Lakes and one for the Oklahoma City Dodgers.
Barlow spent 2016 with the Tulsa Drillers, where he went 4-7 with a 3.98 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 24 games (23 starts), and 2017 with Tulsa and Oklahoma City, where he went 7-6 with a 3.29 ERA in 26 appearances.
