What Is Jonathan Goodwin Health Condition?
Jonathan Goodwin of Britain’s Got Talent has been rendered paralyzed following a mishap during stunt preparations for America’s Got Talent.
After an accident during America’s Got Talent: Extreme rehearsals in October 2021, his fiancée Amanda Abbington, 48, reported the escapologist “almost died twice.”
When he dropped 30 feet after attempting to escape from a straight jacket while hanging upside down, the 42-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star was crushed between two automobiles that caught fire.
“He fell 30 feet and lost a kidney, broke both shoulder blades, destroyed both legs,” she said on Jay Rayner’s Out To Lunch podcast.
“He had third-degree burns, which shattered his spine and damaged his spinal cord, and he was on the verge of death.” Then he nearly died again on the operation table.”
“He’s paralyzed now, and he’s in a wheelchair,” she continued. He’ll be like that forever until there’s some kind of stem cell surgery or the thing Elon Musk is working on with the small chip.”
In February, he was released from the hospital. The escape artist said “boo” to death shortly after the accident as he spoke out on Instagram about the prank goes wrong.
The couple is thought to have gotten engaged just a few weeks before the disaster last year. With his former boyfriend Martin Freeman, Abbingdon has two children.
