Kirk Daniel Cousins was born on August 19, 1988, and currently plays for the National Football League’s Minnesota Vikings. He attended Michigan State University and was taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins as a backup quarterback to fellow rookie Robert Griffin III.

Cousins appeared in games on a limited basis during his first three seasons until taking over as the team’s starter in 2015 following Griffin’s injury. Cousins accomplished multiple team records and was named to the 2017 Pro Bowl while playing for the Washington Redskins.

Cousins signed a three-year, US$84 million contract with the Vikings as a free agent in 2018 after two years of signing franchise tags with the team and failing to reach an agreement on a long-term deal with the organization.
