Willie Hugh Nelson is an American musician, actor, and activist who rose to fame and attained a lot of success after his album Shotgun Willie, combined with the critical and commercial success of Red Headed Stranger and Stardust.

Born on April 29, 1933 (age 88 years), in Abbott, Texas, in the United States of America, Willie is said to be sisters with Bobbie Nelson who died at age 91.

Nelson, who was raised by his grandparents during the Great Depression, and was said to have penned his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at the age of ten.

He travelled with the Bohemian Polka as their lead vocalist and guitarist during high school. He joined the US Air Force after graduating from high school in 1950 but was later released owing to back difficulties.
