Bryce Hopkins Transfer: Has Bryce Hopkins Left Kentucky?
On Thursday, the basketball program at the University of Kentucky received some bad news. The NCAA transfer portal has been opened for freshman forward Bryce Hopkins.
Per game, Hopkins scored 2.1 points while shooting 42.9 per cent from the field. On February 22, he produced a career-high 13 points in a stunning victory over LSU.
After his performance against LSU, most Kentucky fans expected Hopkins to see more playing time. However, it has been stated that he is no longer in Kentucky.
According to ESPN’s 100 rankings for the class of 2021, Hopkins is a 6-foot-6 forward who ranks 33rd overall.
There were no consistent roles for the athlete at Fenwick High School (Illinois) during his one season in Lexington.
The opening half of the season saw him serve as a rotational player, seeing action in double digits in four of his first five games.
Hopkins, on the other hand, played in all but one of the team’s final 14 games, appearing in only three minutes or less in six of those contests.
Prior to his senior year, Hopkins had originally committed to Louisville in November of his junior year. Three months later, he made the decision to attend Kentucky.
Bryce Hopkins, a Kentucky freshman, began the transfer process Thursday morning.
