Erik Ten Hag is a Dutch professional football manager and former player, who is the head coach of Eredivisie club Ajax.
Ten Hag was a footballer for FC Twente, De Graafschap, RKC Waalwijk, and FC Utrecht. He played central midfielder, right back, central defender, and libero, among other positions.
Ten Hag was the head of training at the FC Twente/Heracles Academy from June 1, 2002, to mid-2008.
From 2009 to 2012, he was an assistant coach at PSV. His contract, along with that of coach Fred Rutten, was terminated on March 12, 2012.
Ten Hag was the coach of Go Ahead Eagles during the 2012/13 season when the team was promoted to the Eredivisie.
In the summer of 2013, he moved to Bayern Munich to train the second team before taking over as head coach of FC Utrecht for the 2015/16 season.
Ten Hag signed a two-and-a-half-season contract with Ajax on December 28, 2017, and his contract was extended in June 2019 until mid-2022, and again in April 2021 until mid-2023.
