Sage Steele is an American television anchor who is the co-host of the 12pm (ET) SportsCenter on ESPN.
Gary and Mona (O’Neil) Steele have a daughter named Steele. Mona has Irish and Italian ancestors. Gary was the first African-American to play varsity football at West Point in the mid-1960s.
In 2013, he was inducted into the Army Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding performance on the football and track and field teams for the Black Knights.
Steele next served as a weekend morning sports anchor and weekday reporter for CBS station WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1997 to 1998.
The Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard 400 car races, as well as local college and high school sports, were all part of her reporting duties.
Steele worked as a sports reporter with former WFTS sports director and former SportsCenter host Jay Crawford and current “NFL RedZone” host Scott Hanson at ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Florida, from 1998 to 2001.
She also worked as a reporter for Fox Sports Florida, covering teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightning, and University of South Florida Bulls around Central Florida.
She later worked as an anchor and reporter for Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in Bethesda, Maryland, where she covered all sports in the Washington, DC/Baltimore region.
Sage Steele Children: Meet Quinn Bailey, Evan Bailey, Nicholas Bailey
Steele and Bailey have been married for about 22 years and have three children during that period. Quinn, a 19-year-old daughter, was born on May 23, 2002, and Nicholas, a 17-year-old boy, was born two years later.
Evan, the couple’s second daughter, was born in 2006 and is now 15 years old.
