Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., alias Bongbong Marcos, is a very popular politician in the Philippines. Bongbong was born and raised in Manila on September 13, 1957.

Bongbong had his kindergarten and elementary school education at the Institucion Teresiana and La Salle Green Hills in his birth town. When he reached high school, he was sent to the UK where he attended Worth School which is an all-boys Benedictine institution in West Sussex, England.

He later went to St Edmund Hall in Oxford to get a degree. He studied philosophy, politics and economics (PPE). He passed philosophy, but failed economics, and failed politics twice which made him ineligible for a degree. He was rather given a special diploma in social studies which was awarded primarily to non-graduates.

Bongbong also went to Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in the USA to study for his Masters in Business Administration program but he did not complete it as he claims he withdrew from the program to concentrate on his election as vice governor of Ilocos Norte in 1980.

During his 2016 campaign to become vice president in the Philippines, Marcos responded to then-President Noynoy Aquino’s criticism of the Marcos regime and call to oppose his election run.
