Laura Robson is a former British tennis player. She debuted on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2007, and a year later won the Junior Wimbledon Championships at the age of 14.
In 2009 and 2010, she also made it to the final of the Australian Open’s girls’ singles tournament as a youngster. In November 2008, she won her first ITF Women’s Circuit competition.
At the 2012 and 2013 Wimbledon Championships, Robson became the first British woman to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam singles tournament since Samantha Smith in 1998.
Robson was the first British woman to reach a WTA Tour final since Jo Durie in 1990 at the Guangzhou Women’s Open when she lost to Hsieh Su-Wei.
WTA Newcomer of the Year in 2012, she earned a career-high ranking of world No. 27 in 2013.
With Andy Murray, she earned a mixed-doubles silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, and they also reached the Hopman Cup final together in 2010.
She is now ranked 82nd in the world in doubles, which is the highest of her career (July 2013).
