One of the victims named in the school shooting in Texas, which took place on Tuesday and resulted in the deaths of 21 people, was a teacher who died a “hero” while trying to protect her young students.
Their families have identified two teachers who were among those slain in the attack on Robb Elementary School. Eva Mireles, 44, and Irma Garcia were both teachers at the school.
Amerie Jo Garza, 10, Makenna Lee Elrod, 10, Uziyah Garcia, eight years old, Xavier Javier Lopez, ten, and Jose Flores, ten, are the five children whose identities have been established thus far. Garza, Elrod, Elrod, and Garcia all died from gunshot wounds.
At the time of their murderous shooting on Tuesday at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, which is located west of San Antonio, the children and teachers were only a few days away from the completion of the school year.

Irma Garcia, a second teacher who was murdered in the shooting, has been named by her son Christian Garcia. According to reports, Garcia “sacrificed herself shielding the students in her classroom” when the shooter opened fire on them. Garcia was recognized as the second teacher who was slain in the attack.
