Grohl is a musician, songwriter, filmmaker, author, and dancer from the United States. He is most recognized for his work as the drummer for Nirvana and as the leader and guitarist for Foo Fighters.

Following the departure of their drummer Kent Stax, Grohl joined the punk rock band Scream at the age of 17. Following Scream’s disbandment in 1990, he joined Nirvana as a drummer.

Nevermind (1991), Nirvana’s second album, was a worldwide triumph and featured Grohl on drums for the first time.

Grohl started Foo Fighters as a one-man project after Nirvana split in April 1994, following the death of lead singer Kurt Cobain.
