David Edwin Birney was an American born actor and director known to be involved in both contemporary and classical roles in theatre, film, and television. David was born on April 23, 1939, in Washington, D.C. in the USA and died on April 29, 2022, in Santa Monica, California.

David was part of the Army in the 1960s and in 1965 during the All-Army Entertainment contest, David won the contest and also received the ‘Barter Theatre Award’. He worked in some of the most important theatres in the USA where he performed leading roles. Some of his stage credits include playing roles on Broadway in Amadeus, Benefactors, and Man and Superman.

David was also given major roles during the American Shakespeare Festival, the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Los Angeles’ Mark Taper Forum, and the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival just to mention a few plus numerous regional theatres around the United States.

David Birney Children: Meet Mollie Birney, Peter Birney and Kate Birney

David Birney has three children. They are Kate Birney. She was born on December 5, 1974. His second-born is Mollie Birney who was born on October 2, 1984.

Mollie is known to have battled an eating disorder from age 14 to 22. When she recovered, she became a counsellor in the addiction recovery field and often speak at conferences, treatment centre groups and schools.

David’s third and last born is Peter Birney.
