Doug Ford is a Canadian businessman and politician who has served as the 26th and current premier of Ontario since June 2018 and leader of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party since March 2018.
At one point, Ford was on the board of Build Toronto, a non-profit organization that is in charge of developing and selling public property.
Also, he was a director of the Canadian National Exhibition, and he served on the council’s budget committee, civic appointment committee, and the government management committee.
To help fund a Sheppard Avenue subway extension that the City of Toronto ultimately canceled, Ford served on the board of Toronto Transit Infrastructure Limited, a company he helped form.
It was proposed by Ford in 2011 that a monorail, a boat-in hotel, the world’s largest Ferris wheel, and a mega-mall be built in Toronto’s Port Lands.
Members of the mayor’s executive committee were among those who voted against the plan, which was criticized by the media.
While speaking with reporters about the possibility that his brother Rob may be summoned to testify in court if his buddy and chauffeur Alexander Lisi went to trial on extortion charges, Ford raised eyebrows.
