Doug Ford is a Canadian businessman and politician who has served as the 26th and current premier of Ontario since June 2018 and leader of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party since March 2018.
Doug Bruce Ford Sr. and Ruth Diane Ford (née Campbell) were the parents of Ford, who was born in Etobicoke, Ontario. His father’s parents were both born in England.
He graduated from Scarlett Heights Collegiate Institute in 1983 after completing his education there for five years. After two months at Humber College, he decided to leave school without a diploma.
When his father co-founded Deco Labels & Tags in 1962, Ford got involved in its management in the 1990s. Consumer goods are labeled with pressure-sensitive tags made by this business.
Since becoming president of the company in 2002, Doug Jr. has overseen its expansion into Chicago, for which he has been responsible. Doug Sr. left 40% of the company to his son Doug Jr., 40% to his son Randy, and 20% to his son Rob as he was nearing death.
