Geoffrey Edward Blum, professionally called Geoff Blum is a former professional baseball infielder with a height of 1.91m who was part of the Major League Baseball.
Geoff is from Redwood City in California. He was born on April 26, 1973. He played college baseball for the California Golden Bears baseball team at the University of California in Berkeley. He was also a sociology major student at the University.
Whiles in college, Geoff played collegiate summer baseball for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In 1994, he was selected by the Montreal Expos baseball team in the 7th round of the 1994 amateur baseball draft.
In March 2002, he was traded by Expos to the Houston Astros in exchange for a player. A year after being with the Astros, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The following year in December, he signed with the San Diego Padres as a free agent. In 2007 in November, Geoff returned to play for the Astros and signed a one-year contract worth $1.1 million with them.
When his contract with the Astros expired in 2010, the Arizona Diamondbacks signed him on a two-year contract of $2.7 million. He retired from playing in 2012 and currently works as the television colour analyst for the Houston Astros baseball team.
