John Brown was an American actor and singer who lived from June 11, 1937, until March 2, 2022.
Brown was a comedian, nightclub, and stage performer, and a frequent cast member of the television show Laugh-in. Brown is well known for his stocky build, broad affable smile, animated facial gestures, and easygoing joking manner.
Brown is best known for his role as building superintendent Nathan Bookman in the CBS comedy Good Times from the 1970s. J. J. Evans, the show’s primary character, was frequently the target of fat jokes directed at Bookman (Jimmie Walker).

Sharon Catherine Brown, sometimes known as Sharon Catherine Blanks, is an American stage, film, and television actress who was born on January 11, 1962.
June Brown, her mother, worked as a studio manager. Sharon graduated from Hollywood High School, where she appeared in the musical Mame and the film Wonderful Town as Mame Dennis and Ruth Sherwood, respectively. John Brown Jr., her brother, is her only sibling.
