Kurt Happy Zouma (born October 27, 1994) is a French professional footballer who currently plays as a center-back for West Ham United in the Premier League and for the France national team.
Zouma began his professional career at Saint-Étienne, where he made his professional debut at the age of 16 and won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013. In January 2014, He joined Chelsea for £12 million but was loaned back to the French club for the rest of the season. Zouma helped Chelsea win the League Cup and the Premier League in his first full season in England.
Zouma signed a four-year contract with West Ham United on August 28, 2021, for £29.8 million. He made his West Ham debut on November 7th, scoring the game-winning goal in a 3–2 victory over Liverpool.
The 27-year-old footballer has recently been caught up with the law after a case of animal abuse was filed against him this month. A video that went viral in February had shown the footballer and his younger brother Yoan kicking, hitting, and dropping one of their cats in their home.
Zouma has managed to dodge jail time but is being made to do 180 hours of community service and pay a fine of £250,000.
