Meet Katerina Tikhonova Mariya Putina’s Sister
Katerina Tikhonova is a former acrobatic dancer and a Russian scientist. She is Russian President Vladimir Putin’s second daughter.
Tikhonova is the younger of Vladimir Putin and Lyudmila Putina’s two daughters, who were born in Dresden, East Germany. In the spring of 1991, the family moved to St. Petersburg.
Tikhonova is the CEO of Innopraktika, a corporation that combines two Moscow State University initiatives: the National Intellectual Development Foundation (NIDF) and the National Intellectual Reserve Centre (NIRC) (NIRC).
She also serves as the Deputy Director of Moscow State University’s Institute for Mathematical Research of Complex Systems.
A senior Russian businessman named the 35-year-old the strongman’s child in 2015, and a dancing colleague named her in November, but both eventually modified their statements.
She is a key figure in acrobatic rock’n’roll, a specialized dance discipline in which she has competed and now assists in the management of through top roles at the WRRC and the Russian national federation.
Although Tikhonova is most known for her dancing, there are rumors in Moscow that Putin is grooming her to be his successor in 2024.
Although it is unclear whether Putin’s succession plan would be implemented, allegations surfaced in 2017 claiming that Putin was covertly grooming Katerina – also known as Ekaterina – for a future ‘tsardom’ coup.
Katerina will be 38 years old in 2024. In principle, she could run for president and present her father and his closest friends with a peaceful retirement.
Tikhonova married Kirill Shamalov, the son of Nikolay Shamalov, a Rossiya Bank co-owner, in 2013.
