Richard Wagner was best known for his key role in the reports on the CBS Evening News from the 1960s to the 1980s. Wagner passed earlier on Tuesday, May 10 at his home in Charlottesville.
Wagner had been on a mission in Saignon to cover the Vietnam war updates in 1964. The wars in Vietnam had been rampant and were not under control risking his life in the process. Wagner was very popular in reporting most of the details we have seen or heard about the Vietnam war in literature or videos.
It was a first-time activity as it was not a normal thing for accounts of the war to be shown to a television audience. He had covered very dangerous and intriguing news all over the world. Wagner had made coverages of the Salvadoran Civil War in 1984, Ayatollah Khomeini’s return from Exile to Iran in 1979, Nelson Mandela’s release from South Africa in 1990, and the troubles in Central America in the 1970s to mention a few.
