Christopher Pratt, born John Christopher Pratt to parents John Kerr Pratt and Christine Emily Pratt was a popular Canadian painter and printmaker known for his works such as Boat in Sand in 1961 and Good Friday in 1973. 

He enrolled at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick in 1953 where he studied pre-medicine. Whiles at the University, he got interested in painting and got encouraged to paint. When he graduated from the university, he attended the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland between 1957 to 1959.

Apart from learning to become an artist, Christopher also worked as a construction surveyor at the American Naval Base in Argentina. He was able to apply all he learned in Argentina to his paintings. He later studied Fine Arts at Mount Allison University where he graduated in 1961.

Christopher Pratt was honoured in 2018 by winning the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador award. He was also the subject of Kenneth J. Harvey’s documentary film Immaculate Memories: The Uncluttered Worlds of Christopher Pratt in 2018. 

Christopher was born December 9, 1935, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and died on June 5, 2022, at the age of 86 in Salmonier, Newfoundland, Canada.
