Graham Thorpe is a former English cricketer who played for England internationally and Surrey domestically.
The mainstay of England’s middle-order for nearly a decade, Thorpe was well regarded as a fluent left-handed batter.
Generally, elegance is associated with south-paws, but Thorpe imparted a particular charm to the caressing drives that went beyond the cover fielders.
He developed a distinction as an extraordinary counter-attacking batsman who could turn the tide in his team’s favor with his aggressive strokes.
In addition to that, his presence in the field was important and he excelled in any position. Thorpe was born in Farnham, Surrey on 1st August 1969 and was the youngest of three brothers.
When his brothers tried to get him out, he shifted his posture so he could take advantage of the shorter barrier on the leg side, making it more difficult for them.
This cricketing mentality, formed at an early age aided him when he went on to make his debut for Surrey in 1988.
Exactly five years later, he made his Test debut for England against the formidable Australians at Trent Bridge and achieved a century in the second innings of his first innings.

Graham blamed Nicky for having been spotted with Tim Henman’s trainer, the gorgeous Kieron Vorster. It was not mentioned that he had a run of extramarital encounters, which his wife holds responsible for their marriage falling apart.
